New Marin Restaurants Coming Summer 2026

As a foodie to my absolute core, my decade spent working in restaurants across both Marin and New York City has given me a bone-deep appreciation for just how incredibly hard it is to make it in this industry. It takes an immense amount of grit, passion, and talent to survive, which is why I am always on the hunt to support and celebrate new culinary spots opening up in our backyard.
We have some seriously heavy hitters making their way to Marin over the next couple of months, and to say I’m excited is a massive understatement. Get ready, because it looks like pastries galore and some top-tier dining are headed our way!
Maison Nico (San Anselmo)
The Vibe: French bakery and épicerie excellence.
The Scoop: Michelin-starred chef Nicolas Delaroque is expanding his beloved Jackson Square concept to downtown San Anselmo this summer. Expect his signature, perfectly laminated croissants, the famed pistachio Paris-Brest, and decadent pâté en croûte. Bonus: this location will also feature fresh baguettes and a brand-new ice cream program.
Tu Tap (San Anselmo)
The Vibe: Elevated Vietnamese cuisine with a view.
...The Scoop: Chef Justine Kelly (who spent 18 years at the iconic Slanted Door) is teaming up with Bill Upson of Real Restaurants Group to completely redesign the former Kientz Hall space. Launching this summer, the restaurant will feature a stunning open kitchen and a rooftop bar boasting prime views of Mount Tam.
Feerma (Larkspur)
The Vibe: Modern Afro-Mediterranean grill and bar.
The Scoop: Borhen Hammami, the talent who earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand for San Francisco's Berber, is bringing a vibrant new concept to downtown Larkspur. While the main restaurant finishes its buildout, you can already get a taste of what's to come at the "Feerma Love" coffee cart, currently serving up specialty pastries and small-batch coffee right outside.
M.H. Bread and Butter (San Rafael)
The Vibe: Beloved local artisan baking, expanded.
The Scoop: San Anselmo’s wildly popular bakery is crossing over to San Rafael, taking over the former Crepevine space on Fourth Street. This trusted local favorite will be bringing its exceptional artisan breads, pastries, and killer sandwiches to downtown San Rafael later this year.
